In 2012, I worked with Kevin Carde to create a Web-based, database-driven system for signing in, checking out, and keeping track of students at Canada/USA Mathcamp, where we both worked. The frontend is powered by jQuery and the backend uses Django. There are about 120 students at Mathcamp each summer, and we allow them a lot of freedom to leave campus, so it's been very helpful to have an electronic way to keep track of where they all are during the day. Cicomatron allows us to record and look up where campers have told us they're going, to sign them in every night, and to send them messages, all in conjunction with the larger Mathcamp database that runs during the year.
