Hi, I’m Nic Ford. I got my Ph.D. in math from the University of Michigan in 2014, working on commutative algebra and algebraic geometry with a combinatorial flavor, and I’m now working as a private tutor for adults. Before that, I spent two years working on machine learning research at Google, and I’ve also taught for many years at Canada/USA Mathcamp, a summer program for high school kids who love math.
This website is mostly a reposity for my mathematical writing, which I’ve been working on as a side project for several years. (I also have some notes from my Mathcamp classes.) If you’re interested in seeing me cover some particular topic, you’d like to hire me as a tutor, or have any other reason to want to talk to me, please reach out! You can contact me at njmford at gmail dot com or by clicking the envelope icon at the top of the page.
