I’m Nic Ford. I’m currently a Google Brain Resident working on machine learning. Before that, I was a mathematician working on commutative algebra and algebraic geometry with a combinatorial flavor. I’ve also taught for many years at Canada/USA Mathcamp, a summer program for high school kids who love math.

This blog is a place for some of the longer pieces of mathematical exposition I’m working on, especially those that weren’t made for Mathcamp classes. I’m probably going to start with a series on physics for mathematicians, but we’ll see how things evolve from there.
